The Role of the Glutes in Low Back Pain

Today, I’d like to highlight an important factor in low back pain: the role of your glutes (or bum muscles for the Leyman!)
Strong and balanced glutes are vital for stabilising your pelvis and supporting your lower back. When glutes become weak or imbalanced, often due to postural compensation patterns or traumas, it can lead to added strain on your lower back.
For instance, any accident you may have had no matter how long ago, prolonged desk-based postures, driving for extended periods, lifting children, having a dominant side in sports can contribute to these imbalances.
By incorporating targeted glute strengthening exercises, you can help correct these imbalances and reduce lower back discomfort.
If you have any questions, need personalised guidance or treatment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always here to help!
Warm regards,
Dan
